Many EMU train services in the Beach – Chengalpattu line cancelled due to remodelling of Tambaram Yard

Southern Railway has announced adjustments to the planned maintenance schedule affecting EMU train services in the Chennai Beach – Tambaram – Chengalpattu section, scheduled initially from 23rd July to 14th August 2024.

Effective immediately, the following changes have been implemented:

Suburban train services that were previously cancelled during day time on weekdays from 23rd July to 26th July 2024 and from 29th July to 02nd August 2024 will run as per normal schedule in the Chennai Beach Tambaram-Chengalpattu section as per Annexure-A.

Annexure – A

On 27.07.2024(Saturday), 28.07.2024(Sunday) and from 03rd to 14th August 2024 EMU train services will be cancelled as per schedule given in Annexure-B.

For further information and specific train timings, passengers are encouraged to consult official announcements and railway communication channels.

      Hello Archana,
      This post relates to the revised EMU train schedules(local trains). From my understanding, Vaigai express should be available from Chengalpet at 14:45 as I am travelling on Friday(26th Jul 2024).
      You can verify as Vaigai train is missing when we schedule from Egmore to Madurai whereas the same train is available when we schedule from Chengalpet to Madurai.

      No, you might have received a official communication that it is being cancelled partly between Egmore and Chengalpattu.
