Samskrita Bharati celebrates Valmiki Jayanthi

Samskrita Bharati celebrated Shri Valmiki Jayanti with a Kavi Sammelanam at Valmiki Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur on Oct.20. Fifteen poets presented their own poems on the stage, in 7 different languages – Tamil, Samskritam, Malayalam, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada and Hindi. 

 More than 70 persons participated in the event, of which Justice Ramanathan was the guest of honour. Special guests – Geetha Kalyani Viswakumar lit the lamp, while K.Viswakumar (Retd. Chief Electrical Engineer of Southern Railways) addressed the gathering, and Anantha Kalyana Krishnan (Retd. Asst. Commissioner – Customs from Coimbatore) presided over the event.
